New facility set to open in 2011 and double present capacity

SINGAPORE Construction has begun on Singapore’s International Cruise Terminal (ICT).

The new US$360 million facility will double the city's cruise-handling capacity to four berths by the end of 2011. Cruise arrivals grew to 540,000 people for the first half of 2009, a 20% year-on-year increase.

Singapore expects to welcome 1.6 million arrivals annually by 2015. ICT will also accommodate ships too large for the existing terminal, Singapore Cruise Centre.
