Venues and gardens for hosting memorable functions

Gardenasia, in Singapore’s Kranji countryside, offers ‘agri-tainment’ in various open and tented settings for 70 to 500 people, or more than 1,000 for company family days. A government agency recently booked the whole farm for 1,500 staff members and families, who enjoyed fishing, games stalls, performances and food.

The Hunting Cooks teambuilding event for groups of 30 or more provides hours of entertainment. Companies say it’s a great way to bond and have fun in a natural setting.

Bollywood Veggies, a smaller Kranji farm, has an al fresco area for 80 people and the Dome can hold another 80. The farm also offers unique corporate retreats, staff training workshops and teambuilding programmes.

Discovery Harvest, a teambuilding activity, involves searching for different plants in a treasure hunt. Winning teams receive farm produce as prizes. The herb-potting workshop encourages hands-on lessons and participants take home their own plant.

A spokesman for Philips Electronics Singapore, which recently took 105 of its staff there, says: “We were impressed with the service and handling of such a big group. Our people enjoyed searching for the plants and had a great experience potting the herbs.”
