STB oversees development of new facilities

SINGAPORE The expansion project for Singapore Expo is expected to commence in early 2010 and be completed midway through 2011.

A total of 24 new meeting rooms are proposed on two floors. The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is in charge of the project.

Melissa Ow, assistant chief executive, Business Travel and MICE Group, said: “The upgrading of Singapore Expo will ensure the venue remains relevant and well equipped to meet the demands of the business events organisers and delegates of today.”

The expansion coincides with ongoing construction at the adjacent Changi Business Park, which includes a 300-room hotel.
