The latest news on hotel upgrades and openings

Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf Resort and Spa has launched a free shuttle service to nearby Hong Island. The boat is equipped with water, beach towels, snorkelling equipment, kayaks and a butler.

Banyan Tree Bangkok
will open a range of new one and two-bedroom suites and a new Banyan Tree Club room category, bringing its inventory to 327 rooms and suites.

Hilton Huangzhou Qianjiang will open in 2014 in a new CBD location, 20 minutes’ drive from Xiaoshan International Airport.

Sheraton Incheon opens this month in Korea with 319 guestrooms and 1,300 sqm of function space. The hotel is 20 minutes from Incheon International Airport in the district’s new CBD, Songdo.

Shangri-La Ningbo has opened in southern China, a 20-minute drive from the city’s airport. The 563 guestrooms start at 45 sqm and feature MP3 players, iPods and digital cameras.

Langham Hotels will introduce its Langham and Langham Place brands to Thailand with the 230-room Langham Sukhumvit Bangkok and the 400-room Langham Place Phayathai, Bangkok opening in 2012.

Movenpick Hotels & Resorts will open four hotels in Dubai in the first quarter of 2010. 

Ritz-Carlton will open the first property in its new luxury line, Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Krabi in December. Similian Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve will open in southern Thailand at the end of 2011.
