The latest news on hotel upgrades and openings

Harbour Plaza Hong Kong will be renamed Harbour Grand Kowloon in January 2010 as part of brand-wide restructuring.

W Koh Samui Retreat will open in late 2009, 15 minutes from the airport. The 75-villa resort is located on a 900m stretch of private beach.

Hilton Shanghai has opened its 35-seat Libre Cigar Lounge.

JW Marriott Hotel, Hanoi will open in 2012 beside the National Convention Center. The 450-room hotel also includes a 1,000 sqm grand ballroom, 450 sqm ballroom and five meeting rooms.

Langham Place, Mong Kok has launched Dream Big – a fun array of pillow gifts and messages to encourage sleep. Other Langham hotels will soon offer the concept.

Westin Siray Bay Resort Phuket will open in early 2010 as the brand’s first resort in Thailand. The hotel is a 45-minute drive from the airport and includes 258 rooms and villas.

Movenpick Hotel Saigon has begun a US$25 million phased renovation of its guestrooms and public areas to be completed by late 2010.

Accor will enter Taiwan in September with Novotel Taoyuan International Airport Taipei.

St. Regis Singapore now offers The Art of Living, a half-day activity including afternoon tea and a guided our of its art collection.

Capella Bangkok will open on the city’s Chao Phraya River in 2013 as part of a mixed-use development.
