IMEX Frankfurt 2017 took place this week, with 3,500 MICE professionals gathering in Frankfurt. This year saw 40 new stands, representing 15 per cent growth for the exhibition year on year.

This year's show featured a larger technology area, more than 200 education sessions and a series of social events including Site Nite Europe, CIM-Clubbing, the Dubai IMEX reception at BelEtage Palais, a female-only networking event labelled 'Pink Hour' and the IMEX Gala Dinner

New exhibitors for 2017 included Moldova Tourism, Meet Puerto Rico, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kyoto Convention Bureau, Jeju Province and Choose Chicago. Exhibitors with expanded stands include Tourism New Zealand, Shanghai, Korea, London & Partners, Spain, Rocco Forte Hotels, Guatemala, Panama, Uruguay and NYC.

Rising star Kazzandra Grove from South Africa was presented with MPI Student Scholarship Award, which celebrates future leaders, while Singapore Tourism Board’s Jeannie Lim was honoured with the IMEX Academy Award Asia Pacific at the IMEX Gala dinner.
