Meetings and event planners gathered in Singapore last week for the annual Singapore MICE Forum (SMF), held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands on July 27-28.
Organised by SACEOS, the two-day event featured a mix of plenary and smaller breakout sessions, where delegates were encouraged to reflect on discussion by taking notes in a dedicated 'learning log' that was provided to each delegate.
Building communities and preparing the industry for the future were central themes to this year's event. Highlights included a Painting the Future: Vision 2020 session where millennial meeting planners made bold predictions about future MICE business models; breakout discussions on branding Asia and competing in a hyper digital age; and a powerful closing keynote by David Watson, VP, product at Spartan Race Inc.
The annual Singapore MICE Challenge saw events students compete to win tickets to attend PCMA's Convening Leaders 2018 summit in Nashville, while a gala dinner event was held at Marina Bay Cruise Centre.
