UBM SES (formerly known as Singapore Exhibition Services) has announced chief executive officer, Lindy Wee, will be stepping down.
Wee has held the top job since January 2015 and will continue to serve as a non-executive director. She will be succeeded by Paul Wan, currently the managing director of UBM Singapore, who will lead UBM SES concurrently from July 2017.
UBM Asia president and CEO, Jime Essink, says: “I like to thank Lindy for the enormous contribution to UBM SES over all these years and I am very happy that she is willing to remain with us as a non-executive director, so that we can still benefit from her vast experience and knowledge. Meanwhile I want to congratulate Paul with this new and exciting step in his career. I am confident that UBM’s businesses in Singapore will continue to flourish.”
Prior to her post as CEO, Wee was director of PR and conferences for SES, responsible for conferences and workshops that were held alongside the company’s extensive portfolio of trade exhibitions. In 2004, she was elected second vice-chairman of UFI's Asia/Pacific regional chapter and held a two-year tenure as vice-president (exhibitions) for the Singapore Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (SACEOS).
“As UBM SES enters into a new phase of innovation, the time has come to pave way for a new structure,” Wee says. “With teamwork being the backbone of the company’s success, augmented by Paul’s strong exhibition experience and solid vision for the future, I have no doubt that the business is well-placed to rise to greater heights."
