The lowdown

The Sanchaya is a beachfront colonial estate on the island of Bintan, an hour’s ferry ride from Singapore. The hotel opened in January 2015 as the island’s first luxury property in more than 10 years. It’s also the only property on Bintan Island with its own VIP lounge at Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal, where hotel staff take care of express immigration and customs clearance while guests enjoy a cup of tea.

The estate’s Dahlia room overlooks the beach and can accommodate up to 75 people in a theatre-style setting, or 48 for an elegant banquet. The room opens onto a colonial terrace and an impeccably manicured lawn, ideal for cocktail events. Exclusive use of the estate, with a total buy-out of the property for corporate retreats and private events, is also available. 

Accommodation

The estate features 21 villas and nine suites, each with its own unique style, reflecting the rich culture of the region. All 30 rooms have personalised stationery, and offer expansive views either of the sea or the estate’s tropical gardens. 

F&B

The Salon & Library offer a wide collection of rare vintage wines and fine cheeses as well as Cuban cigars. There’s also The Dining Room, housed in the estate’s Great House where all-day dining is available amid a grand colonial setting.
