Pan Pacific Singapore has appointed Shigeru Tamura as the director of restaurants, bars and events.

Tamura has more than a decade of experience in food and beverage operations in Singapore, Japan and Korea. In his new role he will be responsible for all restaurants, bars and events service and culinary strategy and operations at Pan Pacific Singapore.

Gino Tan, area general manager (Singapore) and general manager, Pan Pacific Singapore, says: “We are delighted to have Shigeru on board with us and his extensive experience stands him in good stead to lead the teams in creating new and exciting food and beverage concepts and memorable service at Pan Pacific Singapore."

Prior to joining the hotel in downtown Marina Bay, Shigeru was the director of Crockfords Tower at Resorts World Sentosa, where he was responsible for all food and beverage operations and sales and marketing (Japan) since October 2015.

Tamura also played an instrumental role in securing a listing of four restaurants with a total of seven Michelin Stars in the inaugural Michelin Guide Singapore 2016.

His past experience includes serving as executive assistant manager at ANA InterContinental Hotel Tokyo, Japan and director of food and beverage at The Plaza in Seoul, Korea.
