InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is set to debut in Bintan, Indonesia with two new hotels scheduled to open in the Lagoi Bay area in 2019.

Holiday Inn Resort Bintan Lagoi Beach and Hotel Indigo Bintan Lagoi Beach will open on the Indonesian island following the recent signing of a dual-brand management agreement between IHG and local developer, PT. Graha Agung Indahsentosa.

Rajit Sukumaran, chief development officer, IHG Asia Middle East and Africa says: “Indonesia is a key market for IHG; it is a diverse market, with a strong leisure and business pull, and well-placed for easy travel between Australia, Southeast Asia and Singapore. In the past year we have seen a growing demand for the Holiday Inn and Hotel Indigo in Bali, Jakarta and Semarang."

Both hotels will be situated on a 9.2-hectare beachfront site owned by PT. Graha Agung Indahsentosa, which is a 10- minute drive from the Bandar Bentan Telani ferry terminal.
