Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts recently announced The Grand Luang Prabang will join the group following a rebrand. Formerly known as The Grand Luang Prabang Hotel & Resort, the property is the second resort from the group in Luang Prabang, joining Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel, part of the Angsana collection.
Located along the banks of the Mekong River, the former Royal residence of prime minister Prince Phetsarath Ratanavongsa, the colonial estate features a blend of French colonial architecture with Laotian motifs—think lourve wooden shutters, large windows and Laotian textiles.
Just a 15-minute walk to the town centre of Luang Prabang, the resort includes 75 guest rooms and two dining options—Xiengkeo, serving Western, Thai, and Lao cuisine (100 pax), and Le Bistrot lounge, which serves light meals with views across the Mekong.
For meetings or private dining, event planners can make use of a meeting room next to Xiengkeo Restaurant, or an adjacent outdoor garden area for up to 55 guests.
