Hotel updates from across Asia

Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur has undergone a US$40 million upgrade. Improvements include a new Horizon Club Lounge, Lobby Lounge, swimming pool and façade, updated guestrooms and a new room category.

Mira Hong Kong has opened three new F&B outlets. Cuisine Cuisine serves contemporary Cantonese, Whisk offers European fine dining and Vibes is an afterhours, open-air terrace.

Hilton will open a 446-room property in the International Finance Centre Seoul in mid-2011. Conrad Seoul will offer 3,100 sqm of meeting space, including two ballrooms.

Wynn opens Encore at Wynn Macau in April, a 415 all-suite integrated resort located opposite its original property.

Marriott Hotels will open the 298-room JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa and the 333-room Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong by January. The group will also debut Edition, its new boutique brand, in Bangkok in 2012.

Grand Park Orchard reopens in Singapore in May following a US$57 million upgrade.

Holiday Inn Golden Mile, Hong Kong
has been refreshed as part of a brandwide relaunch. The hotel will soon redesign Hari’s Bar and Loong Yuen Restaurant.

Gran Melia Shanghai will open in November as the brand’s flagship China property. The 686-room hotel includes a 146-room Red Level, a pillarless grand ballroom seating 600 people and 14 function rooms.
