About Sri Lanka
The Bandaranaike International Airport is 30km north of the capital, Colombo. There are frequent flights to and from Bangkok and other Asian cities. The national airline, Sri Lankan Airlines, flies to 42 destinations in the region and worldwide, including Delhi, Bangkok, Tokyo, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.

What makes Sri Lanka an attractive destination is the diversity of its attractions from paddy fields and tea plantations to white-sand beaches in the south, ancient ruined cities to tropical jungles and desert regions. Colombo is the hub of all business events held in Sri Lanka. The two premier exhibition and convention halls are located in heart of the city, just a few minutes’ drive from many hotels.

There are frequent public holidays throughout the year, reflecting Sri Lanka’s diverse Hindu, Christian and Muslim population. Among them are Independence Day on February 4, and May Day on May 1.
