Taipei has a monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate which is slightly short of a true tropical climate. Summers are very hot, humid, with a maximum temperature of 34 °C and accompanied by occasional heavy rainstorms and typhoons, while winters are short, mild and generally very foggy with an average temperature of around 17 °C.

About Taipei
Taipei City is located in northern Taiwan, including the north-eastern part of the Taipei Basin and the surrounding hilly region. It is divided into twelve administrative districts, among which Daan, Songshan, and Datong Districts are the most populated, and Beitou District is the least populated. Taipei City houses various ethnic groups, such as aborigines, Minnans, Hakkas, mainlanders, new immigrants and expats.

Thanks to advances in economic development and the robust transportation system, important international conferences and exhibitions are frequently held in Taipei, drawing overseas travellers to visit, do business, stay and study in Taipei City. Its ethnic fusion has styled Taipei to become a melting pot of cultural diversity.
Taoyuan International Airport is situated 40km/25 miles away from Taipei City and has two terminals. The airport is about 50 minutes’ drive by car or bus to downtown Taipei. Travellers looking to take public transport have many options in the terminals’ bus lounges, the buses service different routes in the city and areas with hotels.
