About Langkawi
Langkawi is located on the northwestern peninsula of Malaysia and is an archipelago of 99 islands at high tide and 104 at low tide. Situated closer to Thailand than to mainland Malaysia just 25km away, its waters are where the Indian Ocean narrows to meet the Straits of Malacca.

With so many convenient modes of transport available today, visiting Langkawi has never been easier. An overwhelming number of visitors swarm the Kuah Jetty after boarding ferries from the mainland. Langkawi boasts an International Airport, located 20 km (12.4 miles) away in Padang Matsirat, for locals and tourists with a little more budget to spare.

Malaysian Airlines (MAS) and Air Asia operate daily flights to Langkawi from Kuala Lumpur. International travellers from certain places such as Osaka, Taipei and London can connect with MAS flights directly from their country or other airlines, depending on their availability in that particular region. Silk Air and Air Asia fly to the island via Singapore.
