About Hainan
Located at the southern end of China, Hainan is warm all year round and has no winter. The Island boasts soft , sandy beaches and beautiful tropical scenery, which make it a famous holiday resort in China. The capital of Hainan is Haikou City, situated in northern part of Hainan Island. It is the political, economic, cultural and transportation centre of the whole province.

Since 2008, the government has been making a great effort to develop this tropical island province into an international tourism destination. Hainan is known as China’s Hawaii. In December 2010, the first high-speed rail in Hainan, the Hainan Eastern Ring Rail, was put into service. Now people can travel easily between the northern point of the Hainan Island (Haikou) and its southern point (Sanya) in just 1.5 hours.

Sanya is just over an hour’s flight from Hong Kong, and flights are fairly plentiful. Flights are also available from Shenzhen Airport.

Climate

Hainan Island enjoys a monsoon tropical climate. Its average annual temperature is from 23-25°C. On average, it is sunny on more than 300 days of a year.
