About Shenzhen
Described as a window of China’s opening up policy, Shenzhen was established as a Special Economic Zone in 1980. Since that time it has grown from a fishing village into a major and economically significant city. From 1970 onwards, it has been one of the world's fastest growing cities.

It is also the busiest port town of China and the hub of rapid economic expansion. Despite the high rate of crime and its occurrences here, Shenzhen does have a good reputation for shopping and travel.

The city is also the high-tech and manufacturing hub in southern China, the world's fourth-busiest container port, China's fourth-busiest airport, and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. The high-tech, logistics, financial services and cultural industries are mainstays of the city.

As a city of migrants, Shenzhen is open-minded, tolerant and innovative. It is an ideal place for domestic and international talent to start businesses. Shenzhen is easily accessible from Hong Kong and the Hong Kong International Airport, or you can fly directly to the Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport. Shenzhen has a range of very attractively priced three to five-star accommodation.
