Day 1
9am Arrive at the 262-bedroom Crowne Plaza, which also has 14 meeting rooms on the 16th floor. After check-in, head to Eilandje, an island surrounded by docks in the north of Antwerp, and visit the Museum Aan de Stroom, where delegates will learn how the port city of Antwerp has evolved. Tours are available for groups of 20.
1pm Following the tour, head to the city centre for lunch at the Renaissance restaurant in the heart of Antwerp’s fashion district. The restaurant is in the ModeNatie building, which houses the Flanders Fashion Institute and the fashion museum MoMu, where guests can explore the history of Europe’s finest designers.
2:30pm After lunch, take a walking tour around the fashion district, or visit the city’s Diamond Quarter and explore the workshops and boutiques. For those interested in all things sparkly, check out the Diamond Museum, the largest of its kind in the world.
5pm Head back to the hotel to change before dining at Huis de Colvenier in the centre of Antwerp. The restaurant boasts a summer terrace, a winter garden with a retractable roof that can accommodate groups of up to 100 people, and an impressive wine cellar.
Day 2
9:30am Ghent is less than an hour from Antwerp and you arrive at the Sandton Grand Hotel Reylof. After check-in, head to the French-Italian Brasserie Pakhuis, a vast, former warehouse located in front of the famous towers of Ghent. It can cater for groups of up to 120 people.
11:30am Head to the International Convention Center and take the lift to the sixth floor to view the venue’s function rooms, which cover 525 sqm and have aerial views of Ghent.
1pm Visit the Opera House’s lively Café Theatre for lunch and choose from the traditional Belgian cuisine on offer. Then travel to STAM – Ghent’s city museum, which opened in October 2011 and is situated on the Bijloke site, a green area close to the city centre on the banks of the River Leie. Delegates can find out about the history of the city at the museum and tours are available for groups of 20 guests.
4pm Take delegates back to the hotel to change for the evening and head to Oude Vismijn. The recently renovated fish market is now home to a restaurant and event space that can be hired by private parties of up to 1,200 people.
