The lowdown
Opened in November 2011, the 401-room resort is the biggest St. Regis property in the world. The hotel has access to some 800 metres of exclusive beach area and a marina for private yachts.

Event facilities
All the function rooms are located in a separate building next to the complex, enabling the resort to hold large events without disrupting the resort experience for other guests. The two-level building has a circular staircase and an 800 sqm Astor Ballroom that has a two-metre-high ceiling and can fit 700 people theatre style and 400 for a banquet. There are 10 additional functions rooms and a spacious foyer. Just beyond the lobby is a large central area with a lawn that is already asought-after venue for fashion shows and cocktail functions.

Accommodation
The brand’s signature butler service is available for all the rooms. There are 10 room categories, beginning with entry-level rooms that is a generous 73 sqm. There are 28 villas, all with a sea view and private swimming pool. The rooms feature a classic design in shades of dark wood and pastel yellow, and offers amenities from Laboratoire Remède.

F&B options
Social is for all-day dining, while Driftwood is next to the beach and specialises in fresh and imported seafood. Ming Xuan offers Sichuanese and Cantonese dishes. The Decanter wine bar has an impressive selection of bottles from around the world and can hold wine tastings for groups.
