Professional teambuilding options on Bintan Island have been given a boost with the opening of a Quest office at Angsana Bintan last month. The Phuket-based organisation opened in 1995 as Thailand’s first corporate training centre and is undergoing a relaunch as it expands its service offering throughout Asia. Its new website will be launched towards the end of March (questleadingtheway.com).
Regional manager Alun Gathergood, said: “Clients will continue to deal with the head office in Phuket for all bookings, but we now have a permanent office and staff in Bintan offering tours and teambuilding.”
Its Amazing Race, Survivor Challenge, espionage-based The Mole programme and Wacky Olympics are available. Its new Director’s Chair programme sees teams designing and filming video advertisements for one of their company’s products or services.
“The programmes on offer have been selected from the most popular in Phuket, but custom activities are also available,” said Gathergood. “We have already received a request for a sandcastle-building competition.”
Unilever were first off the mark with a half-day programme for 36 staff. Programmes can be held at the Angsana and Banyan Tree properties where the office is located and where a low-wire teambuilding course exists. They can also be held on the beach, lawns and event facilities across the island.
As well as outdoor activities, Quest has a number of 30-minute programmes that can be used to re-energise delegates and break up a long day of meetings.
Quest will also open its third managed facility at the Lang Co mega-development in Vietnam at the end of the year. The first phase of Lang Co opens midyear, including an Angsana hotel and Nick Faldo-designed golf course.
