Marina Bay Sands
The integrated resort topped all hotels for the second consecutive year. George Tanasijevich, president and CEO of Marina Bay Sands (MBS), says: “This award is a strong recognition of Marina Bay Sands becoming the number one choice for event planners in Asia within a short time.”

He believes the biggest appeal lies in its integrated resort model, which combines the best of MICE facilities with luxury accommodation – at 2,561 rooms and suites, it is the largest capacity in Singapore – plus world-class entertainment, shopping and dining, right in the heart of town. At MBS, delegates can network and be entertained from morning to night.

“Our multi-faceted destination opens up more opportunities for organisers to stage creative and memorable events, such as hosting a cocktail reception at the SkyPark, followed by a private launch at the ArtScience Museum and ending off with a party at Avalon.

“We have raised the bar when it comes to staging big, bold and spectacular events in Singapore,” Tanasijevich says. He adds that MBS broke many internal records last year – from hosting a dinner for 5,000 people in the Grand Ballroom in a single night to welcoming over 27,000 people from 51 countries for CommunicAsia 2011, the biggest trade event at MBS for the year.

“With over 2,500 events signed to date, Marina Bay Sands looks forward to an even busier 2012 as we continue to provide the best experiences for our guests at Asia’s most iconic destination,” Tanasijevich adds.

China World Hotel Beijing
The 716-room property, part of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, has private function rooms, an 800-person ballroom and a 2,000-seat conference hall. Large-scale events that it hosted this year included the International Pipeline and Offshore Companies Association (IPLOCA)Convention, which had 500 delegates.

Grand Hyatt Hong Kong
Conferences and large-scale events that the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong hosted last year alone include the Prada IPO event, the Asia Digital Conference, the 18th CLSA conference, Casbaa Convention 2011 and the Qualcomm CDMA Summit.

The hotel was also the first five-star hotel in the city to install an LED wall in its grand ballroom, enabling meeting organisers to create the best visual experience for its delegates. In addition, the hotel opened its seventh restaurant in April – Grand Hyatt Steakhouse, which serves premium beef from the US and Canada and has become a sought-after dining venue.
