Suntec Singapore made it three years in a row when it took the best business event venue experience title at the 2011 Singapore Experience Awards ceremony at Marina Bay Sands on October 17. Organised by the Singapore Tourism Board, a total of 82 awards were presented across 27 categories.

Suntec Singapore CEO, Pieter Idenburg, said: “What we offer our clients, partners and staff is an experience – it is as authentic as it is intangible. Great location, committed team, recognition – that’s a given. But the experience comes with time and can’t be built overnight.”

IDEM Singapore 2010, organised by Koelnmesse and Singapore Dental Association, was recognised as trade conference of the year. Top association conference was Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations 2010 Asia Conference, a collaboration between Harvard University and Singapore Management University.

Blueprint Fashion Trade Show won for exhibitions and Nomura Asia Equity Forum 2010 topped the meeting category. The best business event service experience award went to Pico Art International for Singapore Garden Festival 2010.

Sentosa was judged best visitor attraction experience and The St. Regis Singapore best hotel experience. Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa received special recognition with breakthrough contribution to tourism awards.

The business event ambassador award went to Dr. Andy Nazarechuk, president of the Asia-Pacific Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education, for promoting Singapore as a global hub for MICE education.

Aw Kah Peng, chief executive, Singapore Tourism Board, said: “Our award recipients tonight have all clearly delivered on the promise of experience. They have successfully integrated service excellence, immersive story-telling and new concept creation, to concoct a total experience that will keep customers coming back.”
