MELBOURNE Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and environmental sustainability is increasingly becoming a key influence and, in many cases, a defining factor for event planners when deciding where to hold their next business event.
Research conducted by the Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau’s (MCVB) International Incentive and Corporate Travel unit highlighted that green incentive events are in high demand, particularly from the Asian market.
In response, MCVB has launched a dedicated ‘green’ incentive travel micro-site that provides incentive organisers with everything from sample green itineraries to environmentally friendly business event suppliers.
MCVB conducts its annual Asia Roadshow and Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) as low carbon events.
