AUSTRALIA Tourism Australia’s Dreamtime 2011 will run from November 13 to 18, showcasing the incentive experiences and event planning services that Australia has to offer to 100 buyers and media members.

The trade event starts with a three-day educational visit to any one of the seven designated regions across Australia: Adelaide, Cairns, the Gold Coast, Melbourne, the Northern Territory, Perth and the Whitsundays.

The tour concludes with a two-day stop in Sydney, for a Sydney showcase and business network session with Australian business events operators. The three-hour business networking session will replace the two-day trade show formerly included in the programme, and will be followed by an evening welcome event.

“Dreamtime is a unique activity where buyers can get all the information that will normally get in a trade show, but in a format similar to a familiarisation trip, and with ample opportunities for networking,” said Johnny Nee, regional general manager for North Asia, Tourism Australia. “This gives participants the opportunity to connect with buyers and discuss their incentive offerings in a more relaxed manner.”

As Dreamtime spans over five days, there is plenty of time for buyers to interact with their industry peers and share best practices. The innovative set-up also allows buyers more time to interact and share their requirements with the sellers.

“In the end, no matter how active you are in presenting the product to the market, the most important thing is to let them see the product for themselves,” said Nee.

Buyers will be flown in from Asia, the UK and Europe, New Zealand and the US.
