Macau Tower
Macau’s modern landmark, Macau Tower, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. One of the tower’s biggest drawcards for incentive groups is the world’s highest bungee jump. This activity is run by New Zealand outfit AJ Hackett and offers novel ways for team bonding. The tower also offers an outside walk around its circumference that is 233m above ground. Half-day meeting packages are available that include the “Skywalk X” activity and souvenir items such as T-shirts and photos.
“We recently organised Skywalk X and team bonding activities for 100 people from a finance company,” says Nesta Pun, director of business development for Macau Tower. “Delegates can enjoy a panoramic view of Macau, dine at the revolving restaurant and participate in adventure games.”
Macau Tower partnered with local event management company Smallworld Experience to offer two new programmes: Skywalk x…team bonding Tower Olympics and Macau iPad Discovery. In Tower Olympics, groups ranging from ten to 250 people are divided into teams to compete in different activities such as human foosball and pipeline games. Macau iPad Discovery lets teams of ten to 500 delegates discover the city’s history and culture through a combination of relay race and problem-solving activities. Groups explore various sites in the historic area, while experiencing Macanese delicacies, Portuguese wine and more. “Our selling point is our strategic location and adventure games,” says Pun.
Venetian Macau
Ice World, the venue’s newest attraction that will run until September 18, has an Ice Bar that is available for unique cocktail events. The Venetian also opened Bei, a new restaurant specialising in Northern Chinese cuisine. It has upgraded its video-conferencing facilities so it can offer clients a smooth and fast system that can be easily set-up.
In October, the Venetian will host China Automotive Corporation’s China Automobile Show, which will take up four halls, totalling 40,000 sqm. In November, the Venetian will debut the Asian version of the renowned Top Marques supercar show from Monaco. The show will feature numerous supercars that will be available for test drives during the event – a rare thing for a car show.
