ASIA Shangri-La Asia has released its first sustainability report, “Enhance, Enrich, Embrace”, showing significant improvement in the company’s commitment to CSR.
It reduced its carbon emissions by 7%, energy consumption by 5% and water consumption by 6% for every guest night, compared with 2009. Of its 40,800 permanent employees, people with disabilities account for over 1% of the headcount, nearing the company’s 2% target.
Through its Care for the People Project, over HK$2 million has been invested in local children’s organisations.
The report will be issued every two years to track the company’s CSR improvements.
