BANGKOK Impact Exhibition and Convention Center is undergoing a major revamp, with several new meeting spaces already open and a new convention space opening in July 2012.
Bangkok Land will spend an additional US$104,000 on expansions within the next 12 months, including the 50,000 sqm convention centre and two sky bridges, which will open in October.
Paul Kanjanapas, managing director of Impact Exhibition Management Company, said: “Bangkok Land has committed to this major investment due to the increased number of bookings being received particularly in the meetings, weddings and exhibition sectors.
“Even though work is still underway at IMPACT Convention Center, we are fast tracking the building of meeting rooms and as soon as each is finished they are immediately made available – such is the demand.”
Impact Convention Center will occupy what was Hall 9 or the exhibition centre and will include 7,000 sqm of foyers as well as two large ballrooms that can host events for up to 25,000 people, three auditoria, exhibition space and meeting rooms.
There are 18 Sapphire meeting rooms already open, each seating more than 260 delegates.
