The maximum capacity of each venue is 150, 180 and 200 people respectively. Each level – and the entire venue – may be booked for private events, subject to a minimum spend. Salt Grill & Sky Bar
Situated on the 55th and 56th floors of Ion Orchard shopping mall, this contemporary Australian restaurant holds 100 diners, but up to 160 guests can be accommodated with additional seating. The wine bar takes 40 people while 50 can fit in the Sky Bar. Exclusive bookings of the entire place require a certain minimum spend. Salt’s chic interior lends itself well to the numerous dinners, networking events and product launches staged there. Major banks choose Salt for client dinners while fashion houses, jewellers and developers favour it for product launches. Vertu hosted cocktails for 300 guests at its latest phone launch while Tiffany & Co chose a sit-down appreciation dinner for 60 clients.

The Pod
On the 16th storey of the National Library Building sits the Pod, a function space with a sweeping view of the central business district through continuous glass windows. The venue can be used for all types of events, such as corporate and association seminars, talks, workshops, launches, award ceremonies, cocktail receptions and luncheons. The Pod’s main draws are its central location, unusual setting and attractive view. Although the Pod has neither a restaurant nor bar, organisers can appoint caterers for events of up to 150 people standing or 100 seated. An event planner says: “All sorts of equipment are readily available, such as registration, coffee and cocktail tables, wireless microphones and even low-rise platforms and a portable video wall.”

The Jewel Box
Perched on Mount Faber, Singapore’s third-highest hill, the completely revamped old cable-car station offers five venue options ranging from 30 seated guests in the Black Opal to 230 diners in Diamond Palace, the largest room that can also hold 350 guests for cocktails. This room has a commanding view of the harbour and Sentosa. The 2011 Singapore International Arbitration Forum closing dinner on June 1 was held at the Jewel Box. Delegates enjoyed a cable-car ride there from the conference at Sentosa. Regular corporate functions include networking and customer hospitality events, meetings, post-event drinks, product launches, and dance theme parties. Recent hosts include oil companies, banks and government agencies.

This multi-zone venue on the 33rd storey of the new Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 1 has twin highlights: the highest microbrewery in the world and great views of Marina Bay.Capacity is 110 people seated or 220 standing. Planners can opt for the main dining area, bar or terrace. Two private rooms hold up to 20 guests when combined. Suitable for networking, cocktail parties, gala dinners and dinner-dances, recent functions included a corporate gala dinner for 120 people and a World Gourmet Summit rustic Australian brunch. Destination Asia (Singapore) general manager, Meilin Tay, says: “Level 33’s great view, good food and casual air make it suitable for groups of 25 to 50 people.”
