KUALA LUMPUR Malaysia will host the 70th Institute of Internal Auditors International Conference from July 11-13. This is the first time that the 3,000-delegate conference will be held in Asia.
Richard Chambers, IIA global president and CEO, said: “I am extremely proud that our global organisation will have the opportunity to gather in one of the most vibrant, dynamic and diverse international cities. The venue, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in the heart of the city, is one of the most advanced facilities in the world.”
The conference has received subvention funding and support from the Malaysian Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB). MyCEB CEO Zulkefli Sharif, said: “With an estimated 60% of delegates from overseas, the 2011 IIA International Conference is expected to contribute US$4 million expenditure to the local economy.”
