There is plenty to like about the newly renovated Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa. The 454-room property feels more like a tropical resort than a business hotel thanks to its beach access, open spaces and big windows everywhere you look.

The low-rise property works as either a conference or incentive option, but probably succeeds better for incentives thanks to its huge range of outdoor spaces that can be used for dinners, functions and teambuilding events, and of course its access to other nearby attractions on Sentosa Island.

Tropical meetings
That’s not to say the hotel’s conference facilities are bad. Quite the contrary, with the Horizon Pavilion offering floor-to-ceiling glass walls on two sides with some of the best views of any ballroom in town.

This 520 sqm room is the hotel’s best meeting space and there are a further five breakout rooms as well as the Siloso ballroom. You could also host cocktails here, but groups are better suited doing that around the large pool or beach area.

DA Instruments from China was the first conference group through the door with 50 rooms booked in early February.

Dining options
Dine on 3 is three restaurants and a bar under one roof. Importantly, it solves the problem of large group breakfasts by using huge, room-length doors that can be closed for privacy. Each section also has windows – no need for ballroom set-ups for group dining anymore.
