Suntec Singapore has retained its title as Singapore’s Best Business Event Venue Experience. This award recognises a business event venue for its demonstrated unique appeal, facilities and versatility in settings, as well as excellence in service. The entry also includes components covering corporate social responsibility and sustainability in its operations.

What stood out
Suntec had a stellar year, hosting the Apec 2009 Leaders’ Week (which earned Pico the award for Best Business Event Service Experience) as well as the Trade Conference of the Year (Web in Travel – WIT 2009), Exhibition of the Year (Sea Asia 2009) and Association Conference of the Year (International Conference on Materials for Advanced Technologies – ICMAT 2009).
New shows in 2009 included the Asia Aging Forum 2009, 4th Congress of the International Society for Vascular Behavioural and Cognitive Disorders, the Alzheimer’s Disease International Conference, FDI Annual World Dental Congress and the World Congress of the International Confederation of Principals 2009. Returning shows included Singapore International Water Week, Breakbulk Asia Conference & Exhibition and the second ITB Asia, which has since signed on until 2013.
Strong partnerships
In October 2009, Suntec announced an agreement to be the preferred partner and venue provider of MCI Group for conference placement. Under the agreement, MCI began presenting a series of seminars exploring the art and science of managing associations.

Suntec and MCI also began working together on joint sales missions in China and the greater Asia Pacific region, cross-promoting their respective offerings and embarking on joint bid development to attract regional and international meetings.
