Night Safari was once again awarded Best Visitor Attraction Experience, a significant achievement in an increasingly competitive category. The award recognises visitor attractions that provide their guests with memorable experiences through the delivery of services, facilities, exhibitions and environment.
They must be able to attract visitors (from Singapore and overseas) and positively promote Singapore as a premier destination. Nominees are judged on their level of innovation, new initiatives, service, marketing strategies and testimonials. Shortlisted candidates are also subject to a mystery shopping experience that contributes to one-third of their final score.
The award
“We are very happy to receive this award for the ninth time, and the second under the Singapore Experience Awards banner,” says Fanny Lai, group CEO of Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS). “It is a clear endorsement of our hard work and commitment to achieving and maintaining the best international standards for our wildlife parks.
“We will continue to set the bar higher for ourselves every year, to provide our guests with their most memorable experiences at Night Safari and our other attractions, Singapore Zoo and Jurong Bird Park.”
WRS’s parks exhibit animals and birds in their natural environment for the purpose of conservation, education and recreation. In 2009, Jurong Bird Park served 900,000 visitors, the Night Safari, more than 1.1 million visitors and Singapore Zoo welcomed more than 1.6 million visitors.
Business offerings
WRS has customised conventions, business meetings and teambuilding workshops for corporations including Tata AIG (India), AXA (China), PepsiCo International, ExxonMobil Chemical International and 3M Asia Pacific.
“WRS is strategically positioned to provide the finest destination for meetings, conventions and summits with distinctive animal appearances, which makes our unique wildlife environment a refreshing alternative to a typical urban setting. It is an experience of a lifetime,” says Lai.
The group offers 25 MICE venues across its three parks, but it is the Night Safari that continues to lead the way. Separate dining areas such as Ulu Court can be reserved for parties of 100 people. The Gourmet Safari Express involves dinner on a specially decorated tram that travels through the attraction’s lush rainforest.
In 2009 the group also announced plans for River Safari, a new attraction opening in 2011.
