SINGAPORE Singex, the holding company of Singapore Expo, is to develop a new meeting facility at the venue by early 2012. The 8,000 sqm MAX Atria facility will feature 23 new meeting rooms and extensive pre-function areas.

Singex CEO Aloysius Arlando, said: “MAX Atria will present a conducive and natural environment that invigorates minds and sparks new ideas. Organisers are changing the way they plan business events so that the conferences or trade shows they deliver remain relevant to delegates and exhibitors and achieve maximum return-on-investment.”

He added: “The ‘confex’ model is becoming commonplace, while global conferences are sizing themselves into cosier, decentralised zonal events.”

Singapore Expo will close sections of its facility for two months from June while the US$43 million upgrade is performed.

“Business event organisers can look forward to an oasis-like experience designed to make meetings meaningful and rewarding for all participants,” he said.
