City treasures
We recently arranged a Treasure Hunt day for 80 international delegates from Bose. We divided the team into groups and they used Taipei’s train system to find interesting things across town. We especially wanted to get the theme of friendliness across, so one part of the treasure hunt was that the groups had to hug Taipei locals on the street. It was a great success once they got into it and it really showed how friendly the local people are.
We also did a similar event for Estée Lauder in the Taipei Fine Arts Museum. The groups were given secret maps and had to find precious things in the museum, which gave them an opportunity to learn about Taiwanese culture in a fun way.
Outdoor action
Taiwan is famous for its mountains and rivers, and we have successfully used these to create different team adventures. We organised for a team from Sony Ericsson to do a paragliding experience off a cliff, where they floated around until they landed on a beach. The group was really courageous and it proved to be an excellent teambuilding experience. We then took them to a nearby resort for a BBQ and picnic lunch.
Local people
Another non-city option is a cycling tour through a traditional Hakka Town in the south of the island. We once did this for 80 people from the Asian Patent Attorney’s Association, with an extra activity included at a Buddhist Temple.
