The brief
Singapore Airlines Bali organises this annual event to show appreciation for its top agents in Bali. Typically, the event is organised in June or July. Each year, the top three agents in terms of revenue contribution are recognised among their peers by each being awarded the top agent award.
Challenges
The main challenge each year is to make Singapore Airlines’ event the main airline event that everyone else talks about in Bali for the next 12 months.
This year, Singapore Airlines initially chose an outdoor venue, but the threat of bad weather meant they needed to move the dinner indoors – just five days out from the event date. The organiser had worked with Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa before and felt the resort had a similar mindset towards customer service and attention to detail.
Execution
Despite the last-minute change in venue, organising teams from both the hotel and Singapore Airlines had planned the event very well. Everything ran on schedule on the day.
Guests were greeted on arrival in the lobby by a bamboo orchestra and escorted by hotel staff to a 90-minute cocktail reception in the adjacent Kertagosa Room.
A performance by traditional Balinese dancers closed the reception and the group proceeded to the Keraton Ballroom for the dinner and awards presentation. Both function rooms are located off the main lobby so the group was able to move as one.
