What are they?
The Singapore Experience Awards 2010 (SEA) will highlight the best efforts in promoting Singapore to the rest of the world. The categories cover all aspects of the tourism industry, with several that are specific to business events and MICE.

The categories, along with minimum requirements, are Association Conference of the Year (400 foreign visitor nights or more), Trade Conference of the Year (150), Exhibition of the Year (500) and Meeting of the Year (150). Others include Best Hotel Experience, Business Event Venue Experience, and Best Business Event Services Experience.

STB received more than 200 nominations for this year’s organisational awards and several thousand for the individual awards.

This year’s SEA will be part of TravelRave 2010, Singapore Tourism Board’s first comprehensive travel and tourism festival that will also feature the inaugural Asia Travel Leaders Summit from October 18-29.

How are they decided?
The awards are for innovative and creative ideas that attract business events groups to Singapore. Each category is judged on a points-based system for a final score. Items include Innovative and Creative Planning, Concept of Event, Budget Management and Service Excellence.

Bonus Points are also awarded for events that include corporate social responsibility, initiatives that encourage the target audience to experience Singapore’s offerings and enhance the city’s positioning as a choice destination for business events.
