Fairmont Yangcheng Lake is a resort-style property located between Shanghai and Suzhou. It opened last May with 200 guestrooms and the highlight is its 25-room VIP Villa with lakeside views. The hotel features 3,000 sqm of events space.




Le Meridien Xiamen features 10 meeting rooms with 2,000 sqm of events space. The 348-room property is set on a hillside overlooking the city.






The 602-room Dragon Hotel Hangzhou has just soft-opened and is the city’s most high-tech property – and arguably the most high-tech in China. It features multilingual check-in kiosks in the lobby and also offers RFID tags for MICE events to help track delegate movements during conferences. The hotel also features two 1,200 sqm ballrooms.

Shangri-La Ningbo is a new 563-room hotel two hours from Shanghai. It offers 5,000 sqm of meeting space. 







Sheraton Guiyang features 346 guestrooms including 41 suites. Guiyang is the capital of Guizhou province.

Sofitel Dongguan Humen Oriental is a newly opened 409-room hotel that sits in a 62-storey building in Dongguan. The hotel features a grand ballroom accommodating up to 1,000 delegates.

InterContinental Hangzhou will open later this year with 393 guestrooms and a 2,000 sqm grand ballroom.

TIANJIN UPDATE
Astor Suites Tianjin is due to open in the third quarter of 2010. The 147-year-old building is an icon in Tianjin and has just been restored to its original glory. The hotel offers 153 guestrooms and function space for up to 240 delegates.

Sheraton Tianjin has 325 guestrooms, including 20 suites, and a 700 sqm ballroom. It will open in August.

Crowne Plaza Tianjin Binhai opened last May with 388 guestrooms in the Tianjin Airport Economic Area. It features nine meeting rooms and a ballroom.

LIJIANG PROGRESS
Lijiang, in Yunnan Province, is a Unesco site that continues to grow as a potential incentive destination. The design of the eco-friendly Banyan Tree Lijiang reflects its ethnic heritage and offers 122 villas and suites.

It is 40 minutes from Lijiang Airport and its Jade Dragon Grand Ballroom can host 260 for a reception.

The new 280-room Crowne Plaza Hotel Lijiang Ancient Town is set within Lijiang city, overlooking Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Its 710 sqm Crowne Ballroom can hold 560 in theatre style and 330 for a banquet.

Upcoming property Lijiang Horizon will be completed by 2013. Planned as a low-carbon eco-resort, it will boast a five-star hotel and a 50,000 sqm international conference centre.

The main hall will hold up to 1,000 delegates and will be divisible into multiple meeting halls, multifunction rooms and exhibition space. Eight smaller conference rooms will range from 100-400 sqm with high-tech sound, light and even fragrance features.
