SINGAPORE The first quarter of 2010 has seen the Singapore Airshow, Food and Hotel Asia and the International Furniture Fair Singapore perform well, signalling a return to a growth economy.

Taking their cue, several newer events have either been rebranded, merged or had new features added to their programmes. For instance, the two-year-old BioMedical Asia convention was renamed BioPharma Asia 2010 when it ran in March.

Similarly, event organiser Terrapinn co-located Smart Electricity World with Asia Power & Electricity World Asia in April. The two events shared plenary sessions, social functions and exhibition space.
