Brief: design a themed dinner with entertainment for an international group of 200 delegates Budget: US$250 per person

The Imperial Themed Gala takes guests beyond the Forbidden City to the Throne Salon where the Emperors reside. Chinese lanterns will illuminate the ballroom and floor-to-ceiling scrolls of past Chinese Emperors will be guarded by three-metre statues of Imperial soldiers.

Tables will be dressed in the Chinese royal colours of red and gold with ‘bird cage’ flower centerpieces surrounded by red candles. Waiters can be dressed in traditional cheongsams.

For live entertainment, a traditional Chinese Quartet (US$705) and a traditional Peacock Dance (US$1,180) are available.

Spice up the pre-dinner cocktails in the ballroom foyer with traditional culture booths that can be arranged at an additional cost. Choose from fortune telling (US$340), Chinese calligraphy, caricatures, noodle making and mask painting (all US$255).

The booths are also a fun inclusion during the dai pai dong-themed cocktail reception. The ballroom and function rooms will be transformed using a distinctively Oriental theme with red Chinese lanterns, authentic rickshaws and a variety of traditional dai pai dong food stalls presented in decorated huts.

The panoramic view of the city’s modern skyline contrasts with the old Hong Kong street scenes for dynamic ambiance, ideal for a welcome cocktail reception for delegates.

Cost US$231 per person
