KUALA LUMPUR The Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) has requested long-term funding from the Malaysian government to support its initial US$3.4 million investment.

Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre general manager Peter Brokenshire, recently said: "The proposal before the minister is for a large sum of money with a three-year time span."

The bureau will move into its new offices in the city centre next month and expand its staff to 20 by year's end.

The move is expected to facilitate closer industry ties and greater independence from Tourism Malaysia.
