The brief
PX Mart, a Taiwanese supermarket brand, wanted to organise an incentive trip that brought together its franchisees to enjoy the tropical delights of Bali.

Challenges
The event was put under a lot of pressure due to unforeseen poor weather conditions. It rained quite heavily for a few days before the closing gala dinner, which was to be held in an open-air setting by the beach to highlight the beautiful scenery. The hotel prepared a back-up venue inside the grand ballroom, in case the worst-case scenario occurred and the outdoor event had to be cancelled.

The beach’s sand was also quite a serious challenge for the organiser when it came to setting up the stage for the gala dinner.

Execution
An open-air dining event by the beach is always the most sought-after experience for Bali visitors. The 600 PX Mart franchisees were kept in anticipation right up until the event due to the weather, but eventually they were rewarded with a breezy, open-air gala dinner made up of Balinese-style grilled seafood and a vast variety of Asian dishes. The uncertain weather conditions helped play a huge role in building anticipation for the closing-night event.

Verdict
“All in all the event was run very smoothly, starting from group check-in up to the closing gala dinner,” says Herman Djong, operation manager of Millenium Indo Wisata.
