Why should Asian business events groups consider Sydney in 2010?
Sydney is Australia’s largest and most cosmopolitan city. It’s also ever-evolving. In fact, 2010 is being celebrated as Sydney’s biggest year yet, with an outstanding 39 business events coming to town.
This is helped by a breadth of stunning new venues including Doltone House, Sydney’s newest waterfront function centre. This year also signals the launch of the 2010 Master Events Calendar, with a range of festivals adding to Sydney’s already overflowing spectrum of social activities.
Hosting a business meeting or incentive event in Sydney allows people to benefit from Sydney’s past experience hosting major international events and creates an unforgettable experience for MICE delegates, clients and media. Sydney also boasts an impressive range of sophisticated conference facilities and conference accommodation, suiting every meeting style and budget.
What help does Business Events Sydney offer Asian MICE groups?
Business Events Sydney (BES) provides a lot of support to Asian MICE groups, helping organise business incentive itineraries, coordinate venues and secure activities that are not normally accessible to the ‘everyday’ traveller. This is a result of BES’s collaborative approach with government and industry, which continues to make Sydney an even more attractive destination for business events.
BES can also provide assistance to Asian MICE buyers from the first planning stages of an event through to the completion of the trip. Our industry expertise, government and supplier contacts, and objective advice are an invaluable resource for meeting and incentive planners.
Can you give an example?
BES can help an event planner choose a Sydney destination, plan your incentive trip events, market and promote your business incentive meeting, and welcome your business visitors to Sydney. BES can also help deliver a tailored proposal to clients with detailed information about Sydney, including venues, facilities, services, attractions and activities.
Being a NSW government partner, BES can also enlist support from key government leaders and strategic partners assisting with visa application services, flights and accommodation and leisure activities. We also provide direct support from our BES office in Hong Kong.
What are some of the city’s newest offerings that should interest business event groups?
The New South Wales Master Events Calendar for 2010 showcases the wide variety of festivals, attractions, art, music, dance and theatre happening around the city. With something always happening in Sydney, business events can be planned to coincide with one of the city’s many festivals. This can allow for delegates to take a break from proceedings and truly experience what Sydney has to offer.
From May 27 to June 20, Vivid Sydney, the biggest international music and light festival in the southern hemisphere, will light up the shores of Sydney Harbour. Vivid Sydney is vested in creativity, dreams and aspirations, and will delight business event groups.
In October business events groups will have the opportunity to experience Crave Sydney, an annual celebration of Sydney’s unique lifestyle. As part of Crave business event groups can rumba at the Darling Harbour Fiesta, sample the food at the Sydney International Food Festival and laugh along with some of Sydney’s best comedians at the World’s Funniest Island Comedy Festival.
