Sergeant’s Mess would be a good option for Korean groups. It is an easy boat ride across Sydney Harbour to the venue. Once there, the views and conference facilities are both excellent. I also liked the Sydney Opera House experience, it is hard to go past doing anything on the harbour when it is great weather. Doltone House was good for its green credentials and facilities, while the Ivy also looked nice, although I would prefer harbour functions for my groups.

I found that Sydney has a lot to offer Indian groups. I was especially impressed with the corporate breakfast at Sydney Opera House, the early-morning views were great. This could easily be done as the start of a conference programme or a welcome venue. Luna Park would also be good for Indian MICE groups. Although it is a theme park I liked their marquee on the harbour shoreline. We could do an event here quite easily, great for photo opportunities under the Sydney Harbour Bridge too.

I was impressed with the overall facilities and infrastructure in Sydney. The transfers were smooth and the traffic not too bad. I am not sure Australian Technology Park would appeal to our groups but it is a big space for events. We prefer the harbour views than historical venues. I liked the atmosphere at Luna Park, it seems like a different way to host a business event and the views there are amazing with the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

The city has so many venues for business events groups that I am sure we would be happy with most of them. I see Australia as a whole package of easy access and quality – we know what we are getting for our money. This time I saw Doltone House for the first time, it’s a good new venue in a convenient harbour location. For me Sydney is still the key entry city to Australia for Chinese groups. I will try to combine this with another destination.
