HONG KONG ISLAND
Since opening in mid-2009, Harbour Grand is becoming a popular venue for regional meetings. The rooftop space above its best-view nominee Le 188 restaurant is a standout for cocktail receptions or breakouts that take in the best of both sides of the Victoria Harbour. It recently hosted a film launch for Fox and includes the city’s largest LED screen.

The hotel’s current meeting package is US$45 per person for a half-day event or US$75 for a full day. This includes western or Chinese lunch in the meeting room and a personalized meetings butler. Add US$13 per person for an early-bird welcome coffee and tea, or US$4 for a Chinese set lunch in Kwan Cheuk Heen or a buffet at Harbour Grand Café.

The nearby 345-room East hotel is another new addition to the city’s Eastern district. Its rooftop Sugar lounge can be booked exclusively for lunches, teambuilding events and receptions. The space can accommodate 190 guests using both the indoor and outdoor space, or seated events for 60 people on the terrace and 35 indoors. Overnight rates are US$130 for an Urban View room with single or double occupancy.

Island Shangri-La has recently reopened its Horizon Club lounge with a rooftop terrace. Its full-day meeting package is US$115 per person for groups based on a minimum of 15 people. Lunch can also be served in a private function room.




KOWLOON PENINSULA
The 153-room Luxe Manor opened in Tsim Sha Tsui in 2006 and offers a boutique experience for small to mid-sized groups. Its full-day meeting package is US$90 per person and includes a three-course set lunch in its well-regarded Italian restaurant, Aspasia. Its Dada Bar + Lounge is a unique venue for cocktail receptions and product launches for up to 150 people. For evening events the minimum charge is US$30 per person.

The three private rooms adjacent to the lounge are themed Heaven, Hell and Eden, and offer an interesting backdrop for creative meetings of up to 18 people. Room rental as a meeting venue is US$410 per hour, and the minimum charge for lunch is US$75 per person or US$105 for dinner. 

Holiday Inn Golden Mile is offering a summer residential meeting package for US$200 per person for groups with a minimum of 10 guestrooms. The package includes single or double accommodation in a Deluxe Room and a full-day meeting package with buffet lunch at Bistro on the Mile or Chinese lunch at Loong Yuen.



New to the area is the 413-room Cityview. Overnight rates this summer are US$97 for accommodation in an Executive Room with buffet breakfast. Offer includes internet access and welcome fruit plate. The hotel’s pillarless Crystal Ballroom seats 200 people for banquets or 280 for conferences. The venue includes an enclosed terrace that makes good use of natural light. The Diamond Room seats 150 people for theatre-style breakout sessions.

Langham Place recently opened The Backyard, a two-tier outdoor function space that can host 160 people for cocktail receptions. It is also a popular choice for post-meeting buffet dinners. Full-day meeting packages are US$75 per person.

Truly refreshing meeting breaks are also now available as the hotel has just launched iPod Art Tours of its extensive contemporary art collection. Groups can view more than 1,500 pieces of inspiring works to recharge during long meeting sessions.

LANTAU ISLAND
Regal Airport Hotel is offering a new meeting package for US$62 per person or US$45 for a half-day session. The package includes set lunch in a separate function room or buffet lunch at Café Aficionado.

A dedicated conference manager and standard meeting equipment is included as well as an OM Spa hand or neck massage corner during one of the coffee breaks for full-day groups.

Residential groups with a minimum of 30 guestrooms also receive in-room welcome letters, Airport Express tickets or round-trip coach transfers and all-day coffee and tea
during meetings. Groups of more than 50 guestrooms also receive in-room internet access, daily turndown gifts and evening cocktails and canapés.
