SINGAPORE Aloysius Arlando has been appointed chief executive officer of Singex Venues, overseeing the operations of Singex Group, including Singapore Expo. He took up the position on April 1.

A veteran in the government sector and MICE industry, he was most recently executive director of the 2009 APEC Organising Committee, Ministry of Trade & Industry, Singapore. Before that, Arlando was assistant chief executive (Business Travel & MICE) in the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

Arlando said: “The global MICE industry is a dynamic business that is poised for continued growth in the next decade of the 21st century. It presents prime opportunities for Singex to seize and secure its share of the business.”

His experience and industry contacts are expected to enhance his role at Singex, and strengthen Singapore Expo’s position in the international MICE arena.
