BANGKOK The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) will support six key exhibitions this year under its new Better the Best campaign.

“Thailand’s plan for 2010 is to increase the number of international exhibitions held in Thailand and support and develop regional flagship events in strategic industry sectors,” said TCEB president Akapol Sorasuchart.

The selected shows, Bangkok International Gems & Jewellery Show, Propak Asia, Bangkok International Gift & Houseware (BIG+BIH), Metalex, Renewable Energy and VIV Asia, represent six distinct industry sectors. Together they are expected to generate US$16 billion in revenue. 

The initiative is aimed at increasing attendance figures and encouraging the growth of exhibitions serving secondary industry sectors. TCEB also wants Better the Best to strengthen the network of trade associations and individual exhibition event organisers in each industry sector.
