Herbalife Asia Pacific managing director William Rahn and Herbalife Taiwan country manager Kang-Chi Lu discuss the Herbalife University event held in the Taipei World Trade Centre from September 11 to 13 2009:

What drew Herbalife to Taiwan as the host country for its ‘University’ event?
Taiwan was chosen because of the value Herbalife places on the Asia Pacific market, as well as to reward the excellent performance of the Taiwan Branch. The second reason was the active support of the Bureau of Foreign Trade and Taiwan’s MICE professionals. And last, but not least, the scale of the Taiwanese economy and market potential was also a critical factor. Herbalife Taiwan generated the top sales performance of the Asia Pacific region and ranks third globally.

How did you plan for such a large event?
The decision-making process and preparation phase took over a year, with a budget of several hundred thousand US dollars and the involvement of 400 people from 12 countries. We can’t praise Taiwan enough for proving just how capable it is of hosting large-scale international events.

Herbalife Taiwan collaborated with VISA, DFS, Taipei 101 Observatory, the National Palace Museum, and many others. These arrangements enabled the attendees to experience the wonderful scenery, shopping and cultural experiences that Taiwan can offer.

What were the highlights?
With ‘Proven Powerful, Now is the Time’ as the theme for the event, we felt it truly lived up to expectations. And we were extremely pleased with the high standard of speakers and session leaders in attendance.
