The basics…
Beijing’s newest convention facility opened last November at the site of the 2008 Olympic Games, where it served as a venue and media centre. CNCC is connected to the 379-room InterContinental Beichen and a four-star hotel.
Big facilities…
The plenary hall has tiered seating for 6,000 delegates, which can be retracted within minutes. The ground-floor ballroom has 10m-high ceilings and can host 3,500 people for banquets, or can be divided into three sections for smaller events.
It is surrounded by a large pre-function area and three mid-sized breakout rooms. A total of 11,000 sqm of breakout space is available across 70 rooms as well as 700 sqm of VIP suites and support rooms. The exhibition halls include 36,000 sqm of floor space over two levels. The main hall (22,000 sqm) can be divided into four.
Special events…
CNCC’s catering team can also host outdoor events with a view of Bird’s Nest Stadium and the Water Cube for several thousand people at Olympic Forest Park.
Event capabilities…
Recent events held at CNCC include Microsoft TechEd (4,000 delegates), an Oracle conference (7,000), a five-day event for SAP Asia Pacific and Japan (900), product launches for Samsung and Toyota, and annual dinners for Ericsson (2,600), Sina (2,200) and Kappa (500). The centre will host an Intel Development event in April (5,000) and the World Cardiology Congress (6,000) in June.
