What will Meetings and Exhibitions Hong Kong (MEHK) offer meeting planners in 2010?
For meetings and incentives we will launch a new Hong Kong Rewards scheme, by lowering the minimum requirements for enjoying standard value-added offers as well as adding new privileges to enhance Hong Kong’s attractiveness as a meeting and incentive destination.
We will strengthen our partnership with the travel trade through participation in MICE trade shows, travel missions to strategic markets such as Japan, South Korea and India, and by hosting familiarisation tours for
trade and corporations.
We will also generate sales leads through an outreach programme to targeted industries including pharmaceutical, finance and banking, and education. MEHK will also work with PCOs and AMCs to lobby for more conventions.
And for exhibition organisers?
Through the ‘Business Right Here’ campaign (launched in 2009) we will extend exclusive travel packages with destination shopping and dining offers to help exhibition buyers participate in trade fairs.
We will also extend a range of hospitality offers, such as dedicated immigration counters at the airport and a visitor counter at the venue, as well as enriching the value-added offers from travel and non-travel related partners to enhance exhibition visitors’ experiences of Hong Kong.
Name some recent MICE wins for Hong Kong?
In the last quarter of 2009 we confirmed the IMA 67th Annual World Magnesium Conference, which we be held in May (300 delegates), the International Camping Congress & Asia Oceania Camping Congress 2011 (700), and the International Conference on Web Search & Data Mining 2011 (200).
There are more than 100 international trade shows and conventions scheduled to be held in Hong Kong this year including the Collegium International Neuro-Psychopharmacologicum World Congress (3,000) and the 2010 Joint World Conference on Social Work and Social Development: The Agenda (2,000) both in June. The 14th Congress of Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology (1,800) will be held in July.
